A Journey of Transformation

My career is built on pushing boundaries, driving meaningful innovation, and delivering impact at scale.

As Vice President for Impact Science, I led teams addressing humanity’s biggest challenges—redefining the future of health, climate, work, and social justice. As Chief Operating Officer of IBM Research, I focused on extending technical eminence while amplifying the impact of innovation. Later, as IBM’s Chief Information Officer, I leveraged technology, data, and cybersecurity to propel IBM’s growth and success.

Driving Impact in the Boardroom and Beyond

Whether as a board member, advisor, or educator, my focus has always been on impact. My work with organizations like Regeneron and the U.S. Council for Inclusive Innovation reflects my belief that systemic change begins with bold ideas and diverse leadership.

I’ve mentored countless emerging leaders, guided by the conviction that innovation flourishes when every voice is heard. Through my teaching at Yale and Cornell Tech, I aim to inspire the next generation of changemakers to see not just the challenges ahead but the possibilities.

Celebrating Progress and Connection

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Tech and a Top 100 Leader in Technology. But it’s the relationships—the trust and shared purpose built with colleagues, students, and mentees—that remain my proudest accomplishments. I explore these reflections and lessons in my blog, Mother of Invention, where I write about the intersection of leadership, technology, and the human spirit.

Beyond the Work

I have been a Girl Scouts troop leader, a soccer coach, and a proud advocate for young women in STEM. I believe that every challenge—whether in the lab, the boardroom, or at home—is an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. My mantra is simple: True success isn’t about what we build. It’s about who we inspire to build alongside us.
