Crisis Management in Tech

In this inaugural video blog for Mother of Invention, I share insights from my experiences teaching “Crisis Management in Tech” at Cornell Tech and the Yale School of Management. Through real-life case studies, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall, Boeing 737 MAX failures, and the Volkswagen emissions scandal, we explore how organizations respond to crises and the lessons learned.

Key themes include enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, crisis communications, and the importance of leadership practices like psychological safety. By studying these cases, students gleaned valuable takeaways to prepare for challenges they’ll face as leaders in the professional world.

This video highlights how thoughtful leadership, robust governance, and proactive preparation can help organizations navigate crises effectively while building resilience for the future.
